Overview and Info about my website:
I know, I know that I’ve been saying to myself for quite some time. That “I really need to stop futzing around, and set up a website to post my photos!”
Well, here we are Folks. I’m finally getting off my lazy ass and starting down that road of progress! As I said above, this site is just to post my photos some place other than my flickr page. Eventually, I’ll transfer all of my photos from my flickr page to this website, but in the meantime; my flickr page (www.flickr.com/mrdj87) will still hold most of my online photos.
My real photo journey started the Summer of 1981 when I went to my Field Training for The Air Force ROTC at Georgia Tech. The Air Force holds their Field Trainings all around The US, and I thought that they would send me to Plattsburgh Air Force Base (AFB) in Plattsburgh, NY. But I was wrong. They shipped my ass all the way to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX in August! If you’ve never been to Texas, you should go there in the middle of the Summer and staying in a non air-conditioned 1940-ish barrack (And don’t even get me started about doing any survival training at Camp Bullock!).
Trust me, you’ll love it!🤣
So I needed to document my experience, so I bought my first 35mm camera. A Canon Canonet GL17 rangefinder (Which I still have, and love). From there my obsession with cameras has grown significantly to a number of 35mm, medium format, large format, and a number of digital cameras too.
So please keep in mind that this website is currently a work in process, but thank you for stopping by,
And be good folks, DJ - 09/15/26
